Bayern Munich s Winning Streak Ends with Draw Against Union BerlinBayern Munich s Winning Streak Ends with Draw Against Union Berlin

Bayern Munich saw their historic winning streak come to an end on Saturday afternoon after being held to a 2–2 draw by Union Berlin at the Stadion An der Alten Försterei.

It marked the first time this season that Thomas Tuchel’s side failed to secure a victory in any competition, bringing an end to a dominant run that had stretched across both domestic and European fixtures.

Goalkeeper and captain Manuel Neuer was the first to acknowledge the team’s dropped points, admitting fault for Union’s opening goal. The breakthrough came in the 27th minute, when Union defender Danilho Doekhi converted from close range after Neuer mishandled a shot that originated from a corner kick.

Neuer’s fumble — the ball slipping through his hands and crossing the line — was a rare mistake from the veteran keeper, who had earned widespread praise for his stellar performance in Bayern’s Champions League win over Paris Saint-Germain earlier in the week.

“The view and distance weren’t ideal for me,” Neuer told Sky Germany. “But I made the wrong decision. Those set pieces really hurt us. The second goal was a loose ball that Harry Kane should have cleared, but I also contributed to the first goal we conceded. It was challenging to play here today.”

Despite the draw, Bayern remain firmly in the Bundesliga title race, with Tuchel likely to emphasize defensive focus ahead of next weekend’s fixtures.
