Real Betis is on the verge of achieving a remarkable feat: emptying their injury list for the first time this season. With the return of Isco Alarcón, who was sidelined for over three months due to a fibula fracture, and Junior Firpo and Ricardo Rodríguez now fit to play (having been included in the lineup against Girona), the only player currently unavailable is Pau López, who is recovering from gastroenteritis.

Pau López sustained an injury during the warm-up ahead of the Liga match against Mallorca in early November. Medical examinations revealed a rupture of the tendon of the flexor digitorum muscle in his right leg. Since then, he has been unable to train with the team, focusing on rehabilitation with the club’s physical trainers and physiotherapists.

On Monday, Betis finally shared images of Pau López training alone on the pitch at the Ciudad Deportiva Luis del Sol. The club accompanied the photos with an encouraging message: “Back on the pitch to continue his recovery. Let’s go, Pau!” Coach Manuel Pellegrini acknowledges that he will not have the Girona native available for the upcoming Thursday match against Utrecht in the Europa League, nor for the derby on Sunday. Pau is pushing to return by early December, a month that presents a demanding schedule for his team.
