omidbasir- Manu Fajardo, the Sports Director of Betis, spoke to DAZN ahead of the match tonight at Son Moix. His team is seeking three crucial points to establish a significant lead over their competitors in the race for European positions, while also aiming to close the gap with Atlético de Madrid and Villarreal, who are currently occupying the Champions League spots in the standings.

Regarding the team’s current situation, Fajardo acknowledged the impact of injuries: “Unfortunately, we have to cite tonight’s match as an example, as we still have several key players sidelined: Isco, Amrabat, Cucho, Gio, and Bellerín. When any team loses its most important players, it naturally suffers. However, the strength of our squad lies in its depth; the balanced roster that was assembled last summer is allowing us to remain competitive at the top of the table.”

On the club’s current standing, he remarked: “Yes, at this point in the competition, being fifth in the league is encouraging. A victory today would be a significant step forward, and despite the injuries, we are performing well in the Europa League, currently placed fourth among the top eight. It is satisfying to still find ourselves in a strong position at this stage of the season.”

Fajardo also highlighted the influence of coach Manuel Pellegrini: “Absolutely. The results speak for themselves. After so many years, he remains with us, managing exceptionally well. He is a crucial link in a chain of many individuals who are working tirelessly, including the Board of Directors, the Sports Management team, and the Marketing Department. Manuel is indeed an important piece of this puzzle.”
