Betis Triumphs in November A Month of Success in La Liga and BeyondBetis Triumphs in November A Month of Success in La Liga and Beyond

Last Sunday’s victory in the Sevilla derby at Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán against Sevilla not only provided a substantial morale boost but also allowed Manuel Pellegrini’s team to conclude a successful November in the Champions League. The Verdiblancos secured eight points from four league matches, making them the fourth-best team in this segment of the competition, trailing only Barcelona, Villarreal, and Atlético de Madrid, all of whom achieved perfect records with 12 points. This performance even outshined teams like Real Sociedad (seven points) and Real Madrid, Celta, Espanyol, and Athletic Club (six points each).

For the Verdiblancos, the good news is further emphasized by their unbeaten streak in the league, boasting two wins and two draws. They continue to be one of the teams in the top five leagues with the fewest losses so far in 2025, demonstrating a resilience that allows them to secure points even when victory is out of reach. Offensively, Betis concluded November with a total of seven goals scored and only two conceded, achieving two clean sheets against Mallorca and Sevilla while finding the net in every match.

Their positive momentum has also been reflected in other competitions. After a resounding 1-7 victory against Atlético Palma del Río in the first round of the Copa del Rey, they continued their success this month with two vital wins in the UEFA Europa League, defeating Olympique de Lyon (2-0) and Utrecht (2-1), both at La Cartuja. These victories have propelled them into the top eight of the standings, positioning them favorably to avoid playoff rounds in February and securing their path to the knockout stages while remaining unbeaten in the continental tournament.

November has also been a standout month for several players, including Fornals, who contributed with a goal, an assist, and a call-up to the Spanish national team after a lengthy absence; Antony, with three goals and two assists despite missing the derby due to suspension; Abde, also netting three goals and providing an assist; and Cucho Hernández, who added two goals and an assist. Additionally, Isco Alarcón made a notable return from a long fibula injury after renewing his contract, although misfortune has sidelined him for another two to three weeks due to an unfortunate clash with Amrabat. Overall, November has been a month worth celebrating for Betis.
