Borussia Dortmund has officially announced changes to their Champions League squad as they prepare for the upcoming playoff round.

Later this month, Dortmund is set to face Atalanta in the playoff stage of the Champions League after finishing 17th in the league phase.

The departures of players such as Aaron Anselmino and Pascal Groß during the winter transfer window have created openings in die Schwarzgelben’s roster. In their stead, the club has registered midfielder Salih Özcan and forward Samuele Inacio for the next round.

The addition of Özcan provides head coach Niko Kovac with a more defensively inclined midfielder, which could be crucial for managing the final moments of matches.

With Anselmino’s return to Chelsea, Emre Can is now expected to transition to a center-back role. Consequently, Dortmund’s midfield options will include Felix Nmecha, Jobe Bellingham, Marcel Sabitzer, and Carney Chukwuemeka, none of whom possess a particularly defensive skill set.
