Borussia Dortmund’s Contract Negotiations with Karim Adeyemi

Sport Bild reports that Borussia Dortmund is currently negotiating a new contract for winger Karim Adeyemi. If Adeyemi insists on a release clause, the club intends to establish a significant price for it.

Adeyemi’s contract, which expires in 2027, coincides with that of defender Nico Schlotterbeck, and the club is actively working to extend both players’ contracts. However, the negotiations have proven to be challenging.

The 23-year-old has reportedly requested a release clause in his new contract, a condition that Dortmund is keen to avoid. Nevertheless, if necessary, the club has a strategy in place.

The plan involves setting a high price for the release clause, speculated to be at least €80 million. This amount is one that the club would consider, whether in the context of a sale or as part of a release clause.

Despite a promising start to the season, Adeyemi, along with the team, has faced difficulties. He has scored three goals and provided three assists in 14 matches, but has not contributed a goal in the last eight games. It’s worth noting that teammates Serhou Guirassy and Maximilian Beier have also encountered similar challenges recently.
