According to reports from Bild, Borussia Mönchengladbach is keen on making the loan of midfielder Yannik Engelhardt a permanent arrangement.

The 26-year-old joined Borussia Park this summer on loan from Serie A club Como and has quickly established himself as a crucial player in the midfield.

With the imminent appointment of Eugen Polanski as head coach, the club is intensifying efforts to retain Engelhardt. Although there is no buy option included in his loan contract, Como is reportedly open to negotiations starting at around €4.5 million, given that Engelhardt’s contract in Italy runs until 2027.

Engelhardt is not the only loan player making headlines this season. Striker Haris Tabakovic has emerged as a key figure in Gladbach’s attack, especially in the absence of Tim Kleindienst.

Tabakovic has tallied six goals and two assists in nine matches, surpassing his previous season’s performance with parent club Hoffenheim. The Bosnian is reportedly content at Gladbach and is interested in extending his stay in Niederrhein when his loan concludes this summer, as he expressed to Bild: “I feel very, very comfortable here at the club and in the town in Gladbach. However, these are decisions that will need to be addressed in the future.”
