omidbasir- In regard to the recent acquisition of Hugo Bolin on deadline day, Borussia Mönchengladbach’s head coach, Eugen Polanski, has expressed considerable enthusiasm. The 22-year-old made his debut last weekend, where he played a brief 12-minute stint. Polanski hinted that the twice-capped Swedish international could soon find himself in the starting lineup.

Bolin showcased his energy on the pitch, earning applause from the Borussia Park crowd for winning a challenging duel during the match against Bayer Leverkusen. He completed five sprints and consistently positioned himself to support attacking plays, particularly impressing Polanski with his contributions to the team’s offensive efforts.

“He struck the right balance between both sides of the pitch,” Polanski praised. “My compliments to the scouting department and our sporting director, Rouven Schröder. I believe we’ve gained a player who offers a significant boost in freshness and quality. I would be very pleased if he can replicate the high standard he demonstrated in training and during his minutes against Leverkusen.”

As for Bolin’s potential matchup against fellow young talent Hugo Larsson and Eintracht Frankfurt this weekend, Polanski was non-committal. He emphasized that Bolin, who is currently on loan from Malmö, will not play the full 90 minutes.

“We must remember that he is in a different phase of the season,” Polanski explained. “In Scandinavia, the season has concluded. While he did participate in the Europa League, he has since had a break. He expressed during the substitute training session at Leverkusen that this is precisely the training he needs at this moment.

“Now we must weigh the options of whether to utilize him from the bench to inject some energy into the game or to start him, knowing he may not be able to endure the full 90 minutes,” Polanski concluded.
