omidbasir- In the context of the recent deadline day acquisition of Hugo Bolin, Borussia Mönchengladbach’s head coach, Eugen Polanski, has expressed significant enthusiasm. The 22-year-old made his debut last weekend, contributing notably in a 12-minute relief appearance. Polanski suggested that the twice-capped Swedish international is on track to secure a starting position soon.

Bolin showcased his energy on the pitch, earning applause from the Borussia Park crowd during a courageous duel in the match against Bayer Leverkusen. He completed five sprints and consistently positioned himself to support attacking plays, a quality that particularly impressed Polanski.

“He achieved a commendable balance between the left and right sides,” Polanski remarked. “I must extend my praise to the scouting department and our sporting director, Rouven Schröder. I am confident we have acquired a player who brings an abundance of freshness and quality. I would be very pleased if he continues to deliver the level of skill we have seen in training and during his brief appearance against Leverkusen.”

Regarding Bolin’s potential match against fellow young talent Hugo Larsson and Eintracht Frankfurt this weekend, Polanski kept the decision open. However, he confirmed that the Malmö loanee is not expected to play the entire 90 minutes.

“It’s important to remember that he is in a different phase of the season,” Polanski noted. “In Scandinavia, the season has concluded. Although he played in the Europa League, he has recently had a break. He mentioned during the training session for substitutes in Leverkusen that this is the exact type of training he requires at this moment.”

Polanski concluded by stating, “We need to evaluate whether it is more advantageous to introduce him from the bench to add some momentum or to start him with the understanding that he may not be able to complete the full match.”
