Bournemouth has officially signed Hungarian midfielder Alex Toth from Ferencvaros for a fee of £10.4 million. This deal marks Toth as the second Hungarian player to represent the club, following Milos Kerkez.

The 20-year-old Toth has agreed to a five-and-a-half-year contract, which includes potential add-ons amounting to £2.6 million for Ferencvaros, as well as a 10% share of any future transfer fee.

Toth, who has earned nine caps for Hungary, was also pursued by several top clubs, including Benfica, Galatasaray, and Lazio. Expressing his enthusiasm about joining the Cherries, Toth remarked, “When I learned that AFC Bournemouth was interested in me, I felt excited and happy because this is a great club in the Premier League, which I consider the best and strongest league in the world. The entire structure of the club is impressive.”

Throughout his career, Toth has played exclusively in Hungary and spent the 2023-24 season on loan at Soroksar. He made his debut for Ferencvaros in December 2024 and has since played in 52 matches for the league champions, contributing four goals.

Tiago Pinto, Bournemouth’s head of football operations, stated, “He comes from a club that is accustomed to competing at the highest level in Hungary and in Europe, so we are excited about the potential he brings to Bournemouth as he continues to develop under Andoni Iraola’s coaching.”

Toth’s acquisition represents Bournemouth’s third signing during the January transfer window, following the arrivals of goalkeeper Fraser Forster and defender Ade Solanke.
