As reported by MARCA, Real Betis can now count on Cédric Bakambu, who has rejoined the team today. The Congolese player was eliminated from the Africa Cup of Nations with his national team after a last-minute goal from Algeria during extra time this past Tuesday. He has returned to the Verdiblanco squad with his focus set on the upcoming commitments and potential market movements this January.

This morning, Bakambu was spotted on the training grounds of the Ciudad Deportiva Luis del Sol, where he received a warm welcome from his teammates in the form of a traditional ‘guard of honor.’ However, he did not train with the group and left after a meeting with coach Manuel Pellegrini to continue his work indoors. As a result, he has only one training session tomorrow to demonstrate to the coaching staff whether he is fit enough to be included in the squad for Saturday’s league match against Oviedo or if he should rest in anticipation of the Copa del Rey.

In his training session today, Bakambu was joined by several absentees, including Isco Alarcón, who is still recovering from an injury, along with Moroccan internationals Amrabat and Abde, who are still competing in the African tournament. They will face Cameroon tomorrow at 20:00 at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat, fighting for a place in the tournament semifinals.
