Sir Alex Ferguson Congratulates Pep Guardiola Ahead of 1,000th Match Milestone

Sir Alex Ferguson has offered his congratulations to Pep Guardiola as the Manchester City manager prepares to reach the landmark of 1,000 matches in management.

Guardiola will hit the milestone when Manchester City face Liverpool on Sunday. During his tenure at City, he has guided the club to six Premier League titles and a Champions League triumph.

Speaking on behalf of the League Managers Association, Ferguson praised Guardiola’s sustained excellence. Ferguson himself managed over 2,000 matches during his historic spell at Manchester United.

Ferguson highlighted Guardiola’s achievements across Europe:

Guardiola’s Managerial Journey

Guardiola began his coaching career with Barcelona B before taking charge of the first team, then moving to Bayern Munich, and later joining Manchester City in 2016. He has recorded 715 wins from his 999 matches to date.

“I am so proud to be reaching 1,000 games,” Guardiola said. “It has always been a special ambition for me.”
