Celta Vigo Players Face Contract Decisions This JanuaryCelta Vigo Players Face Contract Decisions This January

Seven players from Celta Vigo will have the opportunity to decide their futures beginning January 1st, as their contracts are set to expire on June 30th. These players include Óscar Mingueza, Marcos Alonso, Iago Aspas, Fran Beltrán, Ristic, Aidoo, and Franco Cervi.

Iago Aspas is expected to soon decide whether he wishes to extend his football career for another year. Meanwhile, Óscar Mingueza, who has delivered notable performances during his three and a half years with the club, has expressed a desire to continue in Vigo. The club is also interested in renewing his contract, and negotiations are currently underway. Claudio Giráldez, a key supporter of the player, remains optimistic about reaching an agreement, although the financial aspects of the deal are complex. The club is similarly keen to extend Marcos Alonso’s contract for another year. Negotiations have been ongoing for some time, and the defender, a regular starter, appears willing to continue.

The renewal of Fran Beltrán, however, appears to be more challenging. Despite his eight seasons with Celta and being one of the youngest players with the most appearances in the club’s history, management has yet to offer him a contract extension. Ristic faces difficulties as well, as numerous injuries have hindered his performance and consistency. Aidoo, who has significantly struggled due to an Achilles tendon injury, may also leave the club as early as this January.

Franco Cervi, on the other hand, will almost certainly not remain with the team. The club has been attempting to facilitate his transfer for a year and a half, but the Argentine has chosen to stay in Vigo. This January, the club will make another attempt to transfer him, and barring any developments, he is expected to depart the club in June.

In other news, the future of Bryan Zaragoza will be addressed at the end of the season. The purchase of his contract is mandatory if certain conditions are met, which have not yet been fulfilled.
