Celta’s Key Players Return Ahead of Valencia Match

Pablo Durán and Borja Iglesias have successfully recovered from their respective injuries and will be available for Claudio Giráldez in the upcoming match where Celta will face Valencia at Balaídos this Saturday. The Thursday afternoon training session confirmed that both players are ready to make their reappearance in the first match of 2026.

Pablo Durán sustained his injury during the match against Real Madrid on December 7 and has since been undergoing individual training. Meanwhile, Borja Iglesias suffered an injury during the Copa del Rey match against Albacete, which prevented him from traveling to Oviedo for the last match of the year. The Spanish international, who is Celta’s top scorer, shortened his vacation to expedite his recovery.

Additionally, central defender Carlos Domínguez, who has been sidelined since December 10 due to a hamstring tear, may also receive medical clearance to return to play.
