omidbasir- Celtic Football Club issued an announcement on Monday afternoon confirming the immediate termination of manager Wilfried Nancy’s contract. The club expressed gratitude for Nancy’s efforts and extended best wishes to him and his family for the future.

In conjunction with this decision, the club’s assistants—Kwame Ampadu, Jules Gueguen, and Maxime Chalier—will also depart, taking with them the club’s good wishes.

Additionally, Celtic has announced that Paul Tisdale is no longer serving as the head of football operations, with the club thanking him for his contributions in that role.

Nancy, who was appointed following a successful tenure with Columbus Crew, where he led the team to victory in the 2023 MLS Cup and the 2024 Leagues Cup, achieved only two wins in his eight matches at Celtic. This results in a win percentage of 25%, the lowest in the club’s 129-year managerial history since it appointed its first manager, Willie Maley, in 1897.

The next least successful manager, Lou Macari, had a win rate of 35% during his eight-month tenure in 1993 and 1994. In contrast, Martin O’Neill’s interim period, which lasted four days longer than Nancy’s permanent appointment, boasted an impressive 87.5% winning record. O’Neill’s overall win percentage of 75.5% during his first spell from 2000 to 2005 remains the best among all permanent Celtic managers.
