omidbasir- Approximately 2,500 Chelsea supporters have been granted tickets for Wednesday’s Champions League match at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium in Italy, marking the final round of league phase fixtures for this season. In anticipation of the game, the club has advised fans to refrain from wearing club colors or emblems that could identify them as Chelsea supporters while in the city. Additionally, Chelsea issued a cautionary statement emphasizing that “attacks on away fans have sometimes occurred in Naples” during UEFA competitions. Unfortunately, two fans have since been hospitalized due to an incident that occurred in the city prior to the match.

In response to the events, Chelsea released a statement via social media: “The club is aware of an incident that took place on Tuesday evening in Naples. Two fans are being treated in hospital, having sustained non-life-threatening injuries. The club urges all supporters to exercise extreme caution while in the city and adhere to the advice provided ahead of this fixture.”

As Chelsea prepares for the match, they currently sit in eighth place in the standings, positioned favorably to qualify for the round of 16. However, the Blues have yet to achieve an away victory in the competition this season and face a formidable challenge against reigning Serie A champions Napoli. A win is essential for progression, though goal difference may also be a determining factor, given that seven other teams are level on 13 points with Chelsea. A defeat could result in Chelsea dropping as many as eight places in the standings, thrusting them into the knockout stage playoffs.

Chelsea manager Liam Rosenior expressed confidence in his team’s ability to secure three points and a top-eight finish. He remarked to reporters, “We know it’s going to be a very, very difficult game in a very, very special atmosphere. My plans remain unchanged because I have been preparing for a challenging match. In the Champions League, Serie A, or the Premier League, one cannot take anything for granted. The competition is always exceptionally high. Napoli is a remarkable team, as demonstrated by their impressive title win last season. They possess outstanding individual players and a world-class coach. They still have a chance to progress, and we are cognizant of that. I believe it will be an exciting match because Napoli needs to win, and for us to have a realistic shot at finishing in the top eight, we also need to secure a victory.”
