Concerns Grow Over Sem Steijn’s Performance at Feyenoord

Despite having scored several goals, Sem Steijn has not yet made a significant impact at Feyenoord. This has raised concerns for Johan Derksen, who voiced his thoughts in an episode of Vandaag Inside. The television personality finds it ‘strange’ that the attacking midfielder has struggled to assert himself in Rotterdam-Zuid.

Steijn was brought to Feyenoord last summer with high expectations, as the club invested around ten million euros—a substantial amount for a domestic transfer. So far, the 24-year-old midfielder has not managed to impress under coach Robin van Persie. His performance in the recent match against NEC, which ended 2-4, was particularly underwhelming.

Derksen commented, “I find it quite odd. I considered him a significant talent during his time at FC Twente; he was the highest-scoring midfielder in the Netherlands.”
