Concerns Over Ajax s Performance Amidst Telstar MatchConcerns Over Ajax s Performance Amidst Telstar Match

Kenneth Perez voiced his concerns on Sunday afternoon regarding Ajax’s significant decline in performance. The Amsterdam team nearly lost a 3-0 lead against a ten-man Telstar, ending the match with a 3-2 victory.

During the ESPN program “Voetbalpraat,” journalist Willem Vissers pointed out that at one point, the players from the capital were seemingly unengaged. He remarked, “They made substitutions, but various players performed poorly. Ajax simply did not deliver. Regeer and Steur were playing exceptionally well in midfield, and then they were both substituted out.”

Perez, however, does not blame coach Fred Grim for the team’s showing. He acknowledged that Ajax became particularly vulnerable under the circumstances. The former Ajax player highlighted a lack of quality in the squad, stating, “Fitz-Jim is not a particularly strong player, and Mokio is highly unreliable. He tends to be a bit erratic. You (Vincent Schildkamp) might think these players view it as their opportunity, but they approach the field with an attitude of indifference.”
