Concerns Raised Over Edited Meeting Minutes by Tottenham HotspurConcerns Raised Over Edited Meeting Minutes by Tottenham Hotspur

omidbasir- Tottenham Hotspur played their inaugural competitive match at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in April 2019.

Recently, the Tottenham Hotspur Supporters’ Trust (THST) has raised allegations against the club for selectively editing the minutes from a fans’ meeting held on February 3, just eight days prior to the dismissal of manager Thomas Frank.

The THST contends that the official record from the meeting excluded significant discussions regarding fans’ apprehensions about the potential risk of relegation from the Premier League. Moreover, the group noted that sentiments reflecting a loss of belief following successes in the Europa League were also omitted.

Additionally, the Trust asserted that a statement acknowledging the importance of THST’s contributions was missing from the final minutes.

“As a democratic supporters’ organization elected to represent fans’ views, we believe it is crucial for supporters to be informed about the issues raised with the club, the nature of these discussions, and the responses provided,” stated THST.

“Publishing a complete record of the points raised is essential for ensuring accountability and allows our members, as well as the broader fan base, to understand how the Trust is fulfilling its responsibilities on their behalf. Transparency is fundamental to our role and in our interactions with the club.”

BBC Sport has reached out to Tottenham for a comment on this issue, but the club has yet to respond.

Currently, Tottenham Hotspur sits in 16th place in the Premier League, maintaining a five-point cushion above the relegation zone after winning seven games this season. On Friday, the club appointed Croatian Igor Tudor as interim head coach for the remainder of the campaign.

The finalized minutes of the meeting did include questions regarding opportunities for youth players within the first team, the club’s profit generation capabilities, and a desire for authenticity in adhering to Tottenham’s DNA and style of play. However, THST claims these points were not published in their entirety.
