omidbasir- Feyenoord managed to win narrowly against Go Ahead Eagles on Sunday, thanks to a last-minute penalty converted by Casper Tengstedt. However, this decision by referee Marc Nagtegaal has drawn sharp criticism from Johan Derksen, who believes Go Ahead was severely wronged.

In his comments on Vandaag Inside, Derksen expressed disbelief at Nagtegaal’s decision to award the penalty following an alleged foul by Eagles player Evert Linthorst. He stated, “I truly believe that Go Ahead has been cheated. I have watched that moment ten times, and I could not identify any foul. Two players were merely kicking at the ball.”

Despite securing their second consecutive league victory, Feyenoord’s performance did not convince many observers. Derksen opined, “A person in their right mind would not have appointed Robin van Persie as coach. They did this to appease the fanbase.” Valentijn Driessen echoed this sentiment, suggesting that such a decision would likely not be repeated. Regarding Dennis te Kloese’s dual role as director, Derksen remarked, “No, of course, that cannot continue. But the supervisory board seems to appreciate it. There is one person responsible, and that person is the scapegoat.”

The penalty decision sparked considerable debate on social media, with many expressing the view that Feyenoord received undue assistance from the KNVB.
