Cristiano Ronaldo netted the 960th goal of his illustrious professional career on Wednesday, leading title-chasing Al Nassr to a vital 2-1 victory over Damac in the Saudi Pro League.

The Portuguese international contributed significantly to his team’s success, scoring his 16th goal of the season early in the second half from a challenging angle, following an assist from compatriot João Félix. This win propelled Al Nassr to second place in the standings, just four points behind leaders Al Hilal.

Ronaldo, who remains the top scorer in the league, has demonstrated remarkable consistency, finding the net in nine of his last ten away matches for Al Nassr. At 40 years old, the former Manchester United and Real Madrid star has expressed his determination to continue playing until he reaches the milestone of 1,000 career goals.

Al Nassr initially took the lead with a goal from Abdulrahman Ghareeb in the fifth minute. Although Jamal Harkass managed to score for Damac in the 68th minute, Al Nassr secured the win despite Ronaldo’s subsequent goal being disallowed for offside.
