Criticism of AZ’s Handling of Dave Kwakman Transfer

Anco Jansen has voiced strong criticism of AZ’s handling of the situation regarding Dave Kwakman. The club abruptly halted the midfielder’s loan transfer to FC Volendam.

Initially, the loan agreement appeared to be finalized, but AZ unexpectedly withdrew from the deal. This decision was made following Kwakman’s disappointing results in a fitness test conducted after the holiday period. Thijs Zwagerman commented on the situation during the ESPN program Voetbalpraat, stating, “You’re openly throwing him under the bus.” He noted the unusual nature of the decision, especially since all parties had verbally agreed to the terms.

Jansen, not holding back, expressed his disdain: “What do you gain from this? I found it truly nauseating.”
