Crystal Dunn Announces Retirement from Professional Soccer

omidbasir- Crystal Dunn formally announced her retirement from professional soccer through an Instagram post, emphasizing her desire to focus on family life with her husband, Pierre Soubrier, and their three-year-old son, Marcel. Although she signed with Paris Saint-Germain in January 2025, her tenure in France was short-lived, with only one appearance during the 2025-26 season.

A stalwart of the U.S. Women’s National Team (USWNT) for over ten years, Dunn amassed 160 caps and scored 25 goals, often playing out of position as a left back. Her defensive prowess and ability to perform under pressure were crucial in securing victories during the 2019 World Cup and the gold-medal achievement at the 2024 Paris Olympics, where she played nearly every minute of the tournament.

“I leave the game with a sense of peace and deep fulfillment for all that I’ve accomplished,” Dunn stated in a message shared by U.S. Soccer. “I’m grateful for the incredible people I’ve had the privilege to work with, from teammates and coaches to family and friends, and all the amazing moments we’ve shared. She made her mark with the Washington Spirit, earning NWSL MVP and Golden Boot honors in 2015, before achieving three league titles with the North Carolina Courage and Portland Thorns.
