Daniel Paraschiv Joins Rapid Bucharest on LoanDaniel Paraschiv Joins Rapid Bucharest on Loan

Daniel Paraschiv embarks on a new chapter in his career as the Romanian forward heads to Rapid Bucharest for the latter half of the season. The Oviedo club, which holds his rights, has finalized a loan agreement until June 30, which includes an option for purchase, potentially allowing the Asturian club to recoup part of their initial investment in the striker.

Paraschiv’s signing at Tartiere was the result of direct efforts from the club’s management, with Jesús Martínez expressing confidence in the player. However, the unpredictable nature of football often undermines intentions. In La Liga, Paraschiv struggled to secure consistent playing time, participating in just 28 matches, accumulating fewer than 600 minutes, and scoring three goals along with a crucial assist against Zaragoza. Nonetheless, he demonstrated flashes of brilliance at significant moments. During the playoff, coach Paunovic reinstated him in the lineup, leading to a decisive assist against Almería and a starting position in the first leg of the final at Anduva. His tenure with Oviedo concluded with 31 official appearances and 773 minutes played.

With promotion now secured, the dynamics shifted. Finding himself without a role in the rotation, Cultural Leonesa emerged as a potential solution through another loan. However, this stint also failed to yield the desired results, as he struggled to find his footing under both Raúl Llona and later José Ángel Ziganda. His contributions in La Liga were limited to just seven matches and slightly over 200 minutes, although he did find some rhythm in the Copa del Rey, scoring his solitary goal of the season against Tropezón.

Now, Paraschiv returns to his homeland, where he will work under the guidance of Constantin Galca, a coach well-versed in Spanish football, who is optimistic about revitalizing the forward’s career as he competes for the title. Rapid Bucharest currently trails league leaders Universidad de Craiova by just one point and is in need of offensive firepower. Paraschiv, for his part, aims to rediscover the form that led him to score 31 goals in 95 matches for Hermannstadt prior to his move to Oviedo.
