David Beckham s Influence on Inter Miami and Manchester United AspirationsDavid Beckham s Influence on Inter Miami and Manchester United Aspirations

David Beckham became part of the ownership group for Inter Miami when the franchise was established in 2013. The terms of his agreement with LA Galaxy in 2007 allowed for the creation of a new club in the United States at a discounted rate.

Significant progress has been made in South Florida, especially with the arrival of eight-time Ballon d’Or winner Lionel Messi in 2023, who has greatly contributed to the team’s achievements, including historic victories in the Leagues Cup and MLS Cup. Messi is now contracted with the club until 2028.

In addition to his role at Inter Miami, Beckham is also involved with Salford City alongside Gary Neville, having previously joined a consortium of fellow ‘Class of 92′ alumni. There are speculations that he might deepen his connections in Manchester if opportunities arise related to Manchester United.

Former teammate Brown, who worked with Beckham prior to his transfer to Real Madrid in 2003, opines that Beckham would eagerly consider a return to Manchester United. Brown remarked to BettingLounge: “Could Becks come back to United as an owner one day? He has done remarkable work at Inter Miami, attracting top talent and building a stronger team. However, Manchester United’s situation is quite different; they are a well-established club that doesn’t need the same level of exposure. The prospect of Beckham returning to United would indeed be a dream for many, but it seems he is quite occupied at present.”

Currently, Manchester United operates under the co-ownership of the Glazer family and Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s INEOS. Discontent among supporters has been vocal in recent times regarding both ownerships.

In 2023, Beckham shared his thoughts with The Athletic regarding the Glazers’ tenure and the need for change: “Whoever runs your club should be passionate, involved, and capable of making the right decisions regarding player acquisitions and investments. The club requires substantial investment, from training facilities to the stadium and on-field performance. Losing fan support, especially at a storied club like Manchester United, is difficult to recover from. Although the Glazers have achieved considerable financial success, it is clear that changes are necessary.”

When asked if he would be interested in a role at Manchester United, Beckham commented: “I am currently focused on my work in Miami and have not been approached. However, any involvement with Manchester United would be incredibly meaningful for me. Whatever the outcome, I will continue to support the team as a loyal fan.”

Recently, Manchester United has experienced a resurgence in form under interim head coach Michael Carrick, following the departure of Ruben Amorim, achieving three consecutive victories against Manchester City, Arsenal, and Fulham. Plans for the club’s future remain ambitious, with discussions of significant spending in the summer transfer window of 2026 and ongoing deliberations regarding the construction of a new stadium.
