DFB Court Issues Suspension to Dominik KohrDFB Court Issues Suspension to Dominik Kohr

omidbasir- The DFB sports court delivered its anticipated verdict concerning FSV Mainz 05 midfielder Dominik Kohr late on Monday evening. The Bundesliga record holder for the most ejections from league matches has been suspended for three fixtures and fined €15,000 due to a severe foul on Hoffenheim’s Max Moerstedt that occurred last Friday.

Kohr faced the possibility of a more stringent punishment following a challenge that was widely regarded as reckless and warranted a straight red card.

A four-match suspension would have effectively concluded his league participation for the remainder of the 2025 calendar year. However, the current ruling allows Kohr to be eligible for Mainz’s final league match against St. Pauli on December 21st.

He remains available for head coach Bo Henriksen in Mainz’s upcoming Conference League fixtures, despite the club’s greater concerns lying within their domestic league performance. Mainz has successfully won all three of their matches in the Conference League.

In league play, Henriksen’s squad finds itself in the automatic relegation zone, having secured only one win and three draws over the course of 11 matchdays.
