Dimitrievski Achieves First Clean Sheet with Valencia After Long WaitDimitrievski Achieves First Clean Sheet with Valencia After Long Wait

Stole Dimitrievski had not experienced a clean sheet since May 12, 2024, during a match between Valencia and Rayo Vallecano that ended in a 0-0 draw. Interestingly, he achieved this while playing for Rayo Vallecano at Mestalla, just days before joining Valencia. Since then, in all matches he played—both with Rayo and Valencia—he had been unable to keep a clean sheet.

The matches referred to were all in La Liga. He participated in two final league games against Granada and Barcelona, as well as four matches in the 2024-25 season against Valladolid, Espanyol, Alavés, and Real Madrid. Furthermore, he also conceded a goal in the current season’s match against Elche.

In contrast, he managed to secure several clean sheets in the Copa del Rey against teams such as Parla, Eldense, Ourense, Burgos, Sporting, and Maracena. However, the clean sheet in La Liga was elusive until recently. Finally, he achieved this milestone in the match against Getafe, where Valencia won 1-0, marking his first league victory as a Valencia player after a 20-month wait for a clean sheet.

This victory is also significant as it is Dimitrievski’s first win in league competition with Valencia; prior to this match, he had played five games, resulting in three draws and two losses.

Dimitrievski’s journey with Valencia since his arrival in July 2024 has not been straightforward. Initially, he faced competition from Mamardashvili and, more recently, Agirrezabala. However, the latter’s injury has provided Dimitrievski with an opportunity to shine during the goalkeeper’s recovery period over the past month and a half.

The goalkeeper signed a contract for two fixed years, with an additional two optional years that will need to be resolved in the coming months. This season, he made headlines for controversial statements during an international break that led to disciplinary action from his coach, backlash from teammates, and a financial penalty for speaking inappropriately about his colleague Agirrezabala and his coach.
