Dirk Kuijt s Promising Coaching Journey with FC DordrechtDirk Kuijt s Promising Coaching Journey with FC Dordrecht

omidbasir- Dirk Kuijt, the manager of FC Dordrecht, is currently enjoying a successful run, positioning his team ninth in the Keuken Kampioen Divisie. In their last five matches, they have amassed an impressive thirteen points, achieving four victories and one draw. With this momentum, the question arises: is promotion on the horizon?

Kuijt’s name has begun to circulate in discussions surrounding Feyenoord, with some expressing a desire for Robin van Persie to step down from his role. Comments from supporters suggest that figures like Sjaak Troost and Toon van Bodegom, commissioners at De Kuip, view Kuijt as a fitting successor to Van Persie. One remark that garnered attention stated, “Coaching is a field of experience, and Dirk has such a strong determination that once he embarks on it, he won’t stop, which is a compliment. I believe Dirk has the potential for a more successful coaching career than Robin van Persie.” Another fan simply exclaimed, “Let’s bring him in!”

In response to potential interest from Feyenoord, Kuijt openly acknowledged his aspirations, saying, “Becoming the head coach of Feyenoord is certainly a goal of mine, but it is not my sole focus. I want to pursue this opportunity when I feel truly ready to make a difference, just as I did as a player. I am confident my time will come, but for now, I am content in Belgium. I stand at the beginning of my coaching journey and have already celebrated a championship victory. If we manage to secure our position, it will feel like a second title for me.”

Kuijt departed from Rotterdam in 2021 after serving as the coach of Feyenoord Under-19 from 2018 to 2020. He emphasized the significance of Feyenoord in his life and the invaluable experience he gained during his time there, stating, “Everyone knows what Feyenoord means to me, and I have learned so much at the club over the years. I am aware that our paths will cross again eventually, but for now, it is important for me to continue my journey elsewhere, guided by my instincts.” Former technical director Frank Arnesen remarked on Kuijt’s decision to pursue his own path, wishing him success in the next chapter of his career, and hinted at the possibility of their paths reuniting in the future.
