In a bid to mitigate the fallout, Kohr took to social media to express his remorse over the dangerous tackle on Hoffenheim’s forward, Max Moerstedt. However, this apology may arrive too late to influence the DFB’s disciplinary committee, which has grown increasingly frustrated with Kohr’s repeated indiscretions. While Kohr’s teammates, including Danny da Costa, have rallied to defend him against accusations of being the so-called ‘Bundesliga Bully’, their sentiments are unlikely to sway the DFB’s decision. Kohr addressed his apology directly to Moerstedt on Instagram, stating, “In my mind, I just wanted to prevent a pass. After seeing the TV footage, I was shocked myself. It could have turned out much worse. I’m relieved and glad that nothing more serious happened and that you were able to continue playing.”

He further extended his apologies to the Mainz fans, expressing his commitment to the team: “I want to give my all for you, and I want to reassure you that I never intend to cause harm to anyone intentionally.”
