Dortmund Director Discusses Future of Chelsea Loanee Aarón Anselmino

As Aarón Anselmino, currently on loan from Chelsea, begins to solidify his position in the Borussia Dortmund starting lineup, speculation arises regarding the Bundesliga club’s interest in a permanent transfer. After Dortmund’s recent away victory against Bayer Leverkusen, sporting director Sebastian Kehl was questioned about Anselmino’s future by the Ruhr Nachrichten newspaper.

Kehl noted that the loan agreement for the 20-year-old does not include a purchase option. This is similar to the situation with fellow Chelsea player Carney Chukwuemeka, whose loan deal was also structured without an immediate buy clause. However, Dortmund successfully negotiated Chukwuemeka’s permanent transfer concurrently with Anselmino’s loan arrangements.

In a somewhat informal acknowledgment, Kehl indicated his intention to initiate discussions with Chelsea. He suggested that if Anselmino continues to perform at his current level, he could represent a valuable acquisition, given his estimated market value of €8 million. “I’ll certainly have to pick up the phone over the next few days and give them a call,” Kehl remarked, responding to the inquiry from the RN reporter. “We have a very good relationship with Chelsea FC.”
