Elche Owner Criticizes Lack of Punishment for Injury IncidentElche Owner Criticizes Lack of Punishment for Injury Incident

Christian Bragarnik, the owner of Elche, addressed the notorious incident involving Héctor Fort, who sustained an injury after being fouled by Nobel Mendy during a match. Mendy’s actions led to Fort suffering a shoulder injury that will sideline him for three months.

In a recent interview with Cope Elche, Bragarnik stated, “It is disgraceful that the player who acted in bad faith has not been suspended and continues to play.” He emphasized the repercussions of this incident, noting that the team not only loses a valuable player on the field but is also obligated to pay Fort’s entire contract despite the injury being caused by a serious foul outside of standard gameplay.

Fort himself expressed his astonishment upon viewing the footage of the incident, which initially went unnoticed but was later analyzed in detail. Medical examinations conducted at the end of December confirmed that he had suffered an anterior dislocation of his left shoulder, necessitating surgery on December 29, performed by the medical staff of FC Barcelona, the club to which he belongs.
