Endrick continued his impressive form by netting his fifth goal in as many games, helping Lyon secure a 2-0 victory over Laval in the Coupe de France quarterfinals on Wednesday.

The Brazilian striker capitalized on a loose ball near the penalty area following a dynamic run by midfielder Pavel Sulc. With remarkable agility, he elegantly maneuvered past a defender before unleashing a powerful left-footed shot into the top left corner, putting Lyon ahead in the 80th minute.

In addition to Lyon’s victory, Marseille also advanced to the quarterfinals, with Greenwood contributing to their win.

The 19-year-old Endrick is currently on loan from Real Madrid until the season’s end, having opted for more playing time in anticipation of the upcoming World Cup. Notably, Brazil’s national team is coached by Carlo Ancelotti, who mentored Endrick during his breakout season at Madrid.

Lyon’s second goal came in stoppage time, courtesy of an own goal by their opponents, who are struggling in the second tier.

Lens joined Lyon in the quarterfinals after a decisive 4-2 victory against Ligue 2 leaders Troyes, with striker Abdallah Sima scoring twice. The northern side is still in contention for a domestic double and is competing with Paris Saint-Germain at the top of Ligue 1.

Elsewhere in the competition on Wednesday, both Nice and Toulouse claimed victories on home soil. Nice staged a remarkable comeback from a 2-0 deficit to defeat second-tier Montpellier 3-2, thanks to a stunning curler by midfielder Sofiane Diop that found the bottom right corner in the dying minutes of the match.

Toulouse secured a narrow 1-0 win against Amiens with a first-half goal from striker Yann Gboho.

In a matchup of first-division teams, Lorient triumphed over Paris FC, who had eliminated the reigning champions PSG in the previous round, winning 2-0 at home.

Strasbourg is set to host AS Monaco on Thursday, coinciding with the draw for the quarterfinals.
