Endrick’s recent performance at Lyon took place during a Coupe de France match against Laval, marking a pivotal moment in his journey with the club. He opened his goal-scoring account for Lyon in this competition when he netted against Lille on January 11, and since then, the talented teenager has been unstoppable.

The 19-year-old forward has scored five goals in as many appearances for Lyon, alongside providing an assist. His immediate impact in his new surroundings is evident as he contributes to the team’s pursuit of major silverware.

Endrick’s fifth goal for Lyon came during a decisive 2-0 victory over Laval. The young forward collected a loose ball from 25 yards out, deftly maneuvered past a defender, and unleashed an unstoppable left-footed shot that rippled the net.

This crucial goal arrived with just ten minutes remaining, providing the inspiration Lyon needed. An own goal from Maxime Hautbois in the fourth minute of stoppage time further secured the win for Paulo Fonseca’s squad.

After finding himself behind Kylian Mbappe, Vinicius Junior, and Rodrygo at Santiago Bernabeu, Endrick has expressed his satisfaction with his experience in France. He mentioned to L’Equipe, “My adaptation has been almost perfect. Since my arrival, the communication with my teammates and the staff has been excellent. I’m truly grateful for their daily support. I now hope to improve a little more with each match, so that by the end of the season we can achieve our objectives.”

He also emphasized the importance of unity within the team, stating, “The fact that the club’s management came to meet me and gave me their word was significant. I felt their confidence. I’ve found a really united team here, where there’s a real sense of camaraderie, which is important. It’s even the most important thing. If there’s unity on and off the pitch, things flow more smoothly and naturally.”

Following the sacking of Xabi Alonso by Real Madrid in early 2026, there was speculation about Endrick potentially returning to the Spanish capital. However, no clause was triggered, and it seems likely that the South American will remain in France for the 2026-27 season.

Endrick commented on his desire for an extended stay at Lyon, saying, “Only God knows what will happen, whether he’ll tell me to stay here or not. Nobody knows what tomorrow will bring.”

Lyon is set to return to Ligue 1 action on Saturday, currently positioned fourth in the table as they aim for Champions League qualification during their upcoming match against Nantes.
