Endrick s Hat Trick Propels Lyon to VictoryEndrick s Hat Trick Propels Lyon to Victory

omidbasir- Endrick feels a sense of validation following his move to Lyon, having scored the first hat trick of his career during the club’s 5-2 league victory over Metz.

The Brazilian forward opted to leave Real Madrid on loan midway through the season due to limited playing time, and he has since made an impressive impact, tallying four goals and an assist in just three appearances for the French team.

“This was the first hat trick of my life, and I am truly happy,” the 19-year-old expressed after Sunday’s match. “It was an incredible game. I will keep the ball from this match at home; it is a remarkable day in my life.”

In response to those who questioned his decision to depart Madrid and join Ligue 1 six months prior to the World Cup, Endrick stated: “I think playing in this league [Ligue 1] has been fantastic. It’s strong and physical, with a lot of intensity. I like that.

“Coming to Lyon was not a mistake. Life is like that. My journey has always been challenging, but I remain resilient due to the support from those around me. This is just the beginning. I’ve always been told that Lyon is a great team, and the truth is, it truly is a high-quality club.”

During his first season at Madrid, Endrick made 22 LaLiga appearances after joining from Palmeiras in July 2024, but he only featured three times in all competitions this season.

He sought advice from Brazil’s coach, Carlo Ancelotti, before making the move to Lyon.

“Lyon is a wonderful place; I feel very fortunate and comfortable here,” Endrick remarked. “This hat trick is significant for me; it contributes to the team’s success, and I feel like I belong. It’s as if God guided me to this being the right place for my career. Every day, every moment has surpassed my expectations, and now it is my reality.

“There is a tremendous understanding among my teammates, the fans, and the staff. We will continue to work diligently as we shift our focus to the next match.”

Sunday’s victory marked Lyon’s eighth consecutive win across all competitions, positioning them fourth in Ligue 1, nine points behind league leaders Paris Saint-Germain.
