Erik ten Hag is no longer unemployed. The 55-year-old football manager will begin his role at FC Twente on February 1, returning to the club where he formerly played for many years. Starting next season, the former coach of Manchester United will assume the position of technical director at De Tukkers, succeeding Jan Streuer, who will step down from his duties at the end of the current season.

The announcement regarding Ten Hag’s appointment will be made on Tuesday evening via the club’s official website. “It is wonderful and special to return to FC Twente, a club I have supported since childhood, where I attended matches at Het Diekman,” remarked the former Ajax coach. “My football and coaching career began here. With my experience in youth development, team building, and high-performance culture, I aim to work collaboratively with the supervisory board, management, and staff to strengthen the technical foundation of FC Twente, allowing the club to sustainably realize its potential as a regional flagship.”
