Today, Espanyol has launched a significant campaign in anticipation of the match at the RCDE Stadium. Continuing from last season, the club has once again promoted the initiative ‘Los Pericos no Abandonan,’ which emphasizes commitment and responsibility toward animal welfare. This initiative advocates for the adoption of pets and collaboration with local animal shelters. In the match against Villarreal tonight, Espanyol took to the field before the kickoff with a unique lineup: Alba, Black, Botó, Menta, Nuska, Pipa, Pistó, Taca, Lobo, Oso, and Tigre—eleven dogs in search of loving homes. Both the club and the players have committed to this cause, aiming to facilitate the adoption of these animals. Notably, last season, some of the dogs featured in this initiative were adopted by players from the first team. Regrettably, the abandonment of pets remains a pressing concern within our society, and Espanyol is determined to combat this issue. Year after year, the club seeks to contribute to this important cause. Supporters eager to help can meet the animals from the Barcelona Animal Shelters looking for adoption. On November 22, Espanyol will set up collection points for blankets, towels, and food outside the RCDE Stadium. Participants will also have the chance to win prizes, including special jerseys—such as those commemorating the club’s 125th anniversary—and VIP tickets for the stadium. All collected items will be donated to the CAACB and other animal shelters across Catalonia. Post navigation Manu Sánchez Makes Impact Return Against Former Club
