omidbasir- Sebastian Hoeneß, head coach of VfB Stuttgart, along with lead striker Ermedin Demirovic, have voiced their enthusiasm for the upcoming Europa League playoff match against Celtic at Parkhead. While the Bundesliga club had hoped to avoid the playoffs altogether, the prospect of playing at such a storied venue remains a source of excitement.

Hoeneß noted during the pre-match press conference, “Celtic is a team that has hit its stride, currently on a ten-match unbeaten run. This is undoubtedly one of the toughest draws we could have received, yet it is also one of the most exciting.”

He added, “We are presented with the opportunity to compete in this illustrious and prestigious stadium. The venue is immense, and the atmosphere will be remarkable. While it will undoubtedly be a challenging match, it is also incredibly motivating to play there. These are the types of encounters you look forward to when you qualify for this competition.”

Reflecting on his past experiences, Hoeneß recalled, “When I was coaching the Bayern U19s, we played a Youth League match at Celtic. We competed in the afternoon and then watched the first team play that evening, accompanied by my former protégé, Angelo Stiller.”

Demirovic shared his anticipation, saying, “Arriving at one of the great stadiums that I watched on television as a child is truly special. Playing against Celtic is a highlight. The atmosphere will be incredible and distinct, although we are used to vibrant atmospheres at our home ground as well.”
