omidbasir- Real Betis, under the management of Manuel Pellegrini, secured a 2-1 victory over Mallorca this past Sunday.

Ez Abde, who was named the match’s MVP, opened the scoring and had opportunities to add more goals before the conclusion of the match. With nine goals and six assists to his name, the winger is enjoying a remarkable third season with the verdiblancos.

In an interview with Betis TV, Abde stated, “Here at Betis, I can confidently say I am in my best form, and I hope the remaining three months of the season will be even better for me.” He remains ambitious, noting, “I strive to visualize and improve every little detail. I try to enhance my performance day by day without becoming overwhelmed.”

Reflecting on his development, he mentioned, “I spoke about this in my post-match interview with DAZN after the game against Mallorca. When I first arrived, I was younger and lacked clarity in my ideas. However, with experience and more game time, I am becoming a better player.”

Abde closely monitors his performance metrics, saying, “I keep track of my numbers, and so do my family and agents. I also look at my teammates’ stats; for example, when Antony scores, I feel motivated to also find the net. Having Antony at such a high level pushes me—he has become like a brother to me since his arrival.”

He also highlighted his connection with other teammates, stating, “I spend more time with Bakambu at the training ground, but my on-field chemistry with Antony is unique. I also connect well with Cucho; we understand each other during matches.”

On his life in Sevilla, Abde remarked, “I believe I have found a home here in Sevilla. I love the city, the climate, and the Betis fans, as I mentioned recently. Both my family and I are very happy here.”

He praised the Betis supporters, noting, “I often tell my brothers and friends that there is no fanbase in Spain like that of Betis. It reminds me of the Moroccan national team fans, who are also incredibly passionate.”

Discussing the team’s recent form, he stated, “We have been playing very well in the last few matches. The team is in great shape; however, we struggled to control the game against Atlético. When we faced them on their turf, we turned it around, which boosted our confidence. Winning at the Metropolitano is no easy feat, and we need to maintain this hunger for the remainder of the season. Why not dream of the Champions League? Let’s aim high.”

Regarding injuries, he acknowledged, “These are tough periods, but that’s football. If some players are unavailable, we must rely on those who are fit. We have a strong squad, and anyone can step up when needed.”

Looking ahead, he expressed confidence in upcoming home matches, saying, “All my teammates are eager to win; we are very competitive in both training and matches. We will approach both home games with the intent to win.”

Abde also praised teammate Fidalgo: “In recent matches, I’ve been trying to connect with him on the pitch, and it has gone very well. He is hardworking and possesses a lot of quality, which I appreciate.”

Finally, he reflected on his coach, saying, “If not the first, Pellegrini is certainly among the top two most important coaches I have had. He has provided me with significant guidance.”
