omidbasir- Eberechi Eze’s recent transfer from Crystal Palace to Arsenal for £67.5 million ($88 million) has garnered significant excitement among fans regarding his potential impact on Mikel Arteta’s attacking strategy. Following a promising start, Eze truly showcased his abilities during Arsenal’s 4-1 victory against Tottenham, much to the delight of supporters.

Expressing his joy after the match, the lifelong Arsenal fan remarked to Sky Sports, “That’s a good feeling. It was an enjoyable day, and I’m happy to help the team. Winning today is special. I prayed for a hat-trick and I got it, so I’m grateful to God.”

Manager Mikel Arteta shared in the elation following the north London derby win, stating on BBC’s Match of the Day, “It’s a very special day for us. We understood the significance of this match and what it means to our fans. We managed to dominate every facet of the game, creating substantial chances and maintaining our patience. This squad possesses the quality and belief necessary to deliver consistently.”

Former Tottenham manager Tim Sherwood has suggested that Eze could earn a starting position at next year’s World Cup. He believes that if Thomas Tuchel chooses to utilize a number 10, Eze would be the ideal candidate despite competition from talents like Jude Bellingham, Chelsea’s Palmer, and Morgan Rogers of Aston Villa. Sherwood noted, “While we might get carried away due to Eze’s hat-trick in the North London derby, it’s important to recognize his exceptional talent as a number 10. He possesses speed, versatility with both feet, vision, and everything needed for that role.”

Eze was also asked about scoring against a Tottenham team he nearly joined this summer. Although he sidestepped the question, Sherwood commended him for his composure, stating, “Credit to him; he didn’t seem affected by the atmosphere. He embraced the pressure, which is a mark of a big player.”

While Arteta celebrated Eze’s contributions, he noted that the former Queens Park Rangers player could have scored even more goals during the match. Arteta recognized Eze’s ability to create “magic moments” on the pitch. He said to BBC Sport, “To be fair, he could have scored four or five. He is a significant player capable of unsettling opponents. We’ve built great momentum, but every Premier League game presents its challenges. We must take it one match at a time, enjoy tonight, and prepare for our upcoming fixtures against Bayern Munich and Chelsea.”

With one major hurdle overcome, Arsenal now faces an even tougher challenge on Wednesday when they host a formidable Bayern Munich side in the Champions League. Following that, the top-of-the-table Gunners will travel to face second-placed Chelsea in what promises to be another pivotal match.
