FC Bayern Munich s Max Eberl Discusses Luka Vuskovic Rumors and Internal TransfersFC Bayern Munich s Max Eberl Discusses Luka Vuskovic Rumors and Internal Transfers

Max Eberl, the sporting CEO of FC Bayern Munich, recently addressed the swirling rumors regarding the potential transfer of rising Tottenham defender Luka Vuskovic to the German champions. As Vuskovic’s impressive performance continues to elevate his profile, it seems unlikely that Hamburg will be able to retain the now €40 million-valued center-back. But could Bayern Munich be in a position to acquire him from Tottenham?

This topic has garnered significant attention in the German press, particularly as discussions arise about Bayern’s potential interest in keeping Vuskovic within the Bundesliga. While Hamburger SV may struggle to secure the 18-year-old talent, there are speculations about his role in Bayern’s long-term strategy. Eberl, who recently finalized a new contract for center-back Dayot Upamecano, addressed both players at a press conference held on Saturday.

Eberl remarked, “First, we have to sort our own internal transfers,” alluding to Upamecano. “Once that’s done, we’ll have a high-quality center-back. That doesn’t mean Vuskovic isn’t an impressive player. He is indeed having an outstanding season. However, he belongs to Tottenham Hotspur. Bayern also boasts quality center-backs like Jonathan Tah, Upamecano, and Kim Min-jae.”

He further stated, “We cannot acquire every talented player that the public speculates should join FC Bayern. Vuskovic is undoubtedly a very good player, but our primary focus remains on our internal transfers, which is well-known.”

Eberl also expressed optimism regarding the status of Upamecano, saying, “We’re very close to the finish line. While unexpected developments can happen, we hope to announce a deal soon.”
