Fer López Reflects on Celta’s Performance Against Espanyol

omidbasir- Fer López continues to accumulate playing minutes since his return to Celta. The young midfielder delivered a commendable performance against Espanyol.

He believes they deserved to win the match: “Especially after going down 0-1 at halftime, from my perspective, we let two points slip away. It’s incredibly challenging to take the lead in such a tough venue, and during the first 15-20 minutes of the second half, we had numerous chances to secure the game, but we didn’t capitalize on them.”

He further analyzes the situation: “In the top division, you cannot afford to miss opportunities, and as a result, they equalized. Then we were called for offside, which doesn’t concern me because we continued playing, and they went ahead 2-1. We responded well, considering they are a very difficult team to break down when they sit back because they defend exceptionally well. Ultimately, we managed to score the equalizer, but we were unlucky not to take all three points.”

They remain ambitious moving forward: “The fans know that it’s undeniable for us to fight until the end, and we will always do so in every match. We hope for different outcomes. I want to assure them that we will always give everything for the team.”
