Feyenoord and Leo Sauer Discuss Contract Extension

Feyenoord is currently engaged in discussions with Leo Sauer about extending his contract. This information was confirmed by Július Sauer, the father and agent of the Slovak forward. The 20-year-old international has recently been linked to potential transfers.

In an interview with the Slovak media outlet tvnoviny.sk, Mr. Sauer stated that the club’s management recognizes his son’s progress and has initiated negotiations for a contract extension. “The management sees his potential and wants to secure him for a longer period, especially given the significant interest from other clubs,” he remarked. Currently, Sauer’s contract is set to run until mid-2028.

Several clubs have expressed interest in Sauer. Recently, another club made inquiries in Rotterdam, as disclosed by Sauer senior. “Yes, a prestigious club from Saudi Arabia approached us, but we politely declined their offer,” he said. Additionally, there have been inquiries from Germany. “A club from the Bundesliga, one of the top five, has placed him high on their list. Furthermore, there was another major club interested, and they have inquired about the possibility of discussing a transfer either in the winter or next summer.”
