Feyenoord Faces Challenging Season Amidst PSV DominanceFeyenoord Faces Challenging Season Amidst PSV Dominance

Feyenoord is enduring a challenging season. The Rotterdam club has already been eliminated from both the domestic cup and the Europa League, and in the league, they find themselves significantly trailing behind leaders PSV. Karim El Ahmadi believes the club should be embarrassed by its current situation.

“PSV would have to face severe setbacks to miss out on the championship,” El Ahmadi stated.

This Sunday afternoon, Feyenoord will compete in Eindhoven. “The atmosphere feels markedly different from the previous top match at De Kuip. Back then, the teams were closely matched, but now the gap is substantial. For Feyenoord, it is crucial to fight for the second spot, but the club is not in a strong position for the title. It’s unfortunate that there is a lack of competitive tension in the race for first place,” El Ahmadi commented on ESPN.

Regarding their opponents, PSV, El Ahmadi noted that they struggled against the high pressure applied by NAC and Bayern Munich. “In their match against Heerenveen, Feyenoord played with a very low block, which wasn’t particularly successful. They attempted to apply high pressure against Sparta, but that is not Feyenoord’s strength. I’m curious to see how Feyenoord will approach the game today. If PSV maintains possession effectively, it won’t matter how much pressure you apply; however, they sometimes have difficulty transitioning to attacking plays.”
