Feyenoord is currently experiencing a difficult period. The Rotterdam club has been eliminated from two competitions, while Ajax has quickly closed the gap in the race for second place. Additionally, injury woes continue to escalate, making a comprehensive evaluation at De Kuip imminent.

Robin van Persie and the Feyenoord leadership are under scrutiny. Emile Schelvis, in an analysis for FC Rijnmond, asserts, “A thorough assessment of all individuals involved in addressing the issues is necessary.” Dennis te Kloese is identified as one of the key figures responsible. “I must also point to the technical/general director who oversees the transfer policy. They have sold everything they could, raising a total of 135 million euros, yet have only reinvested around 70 million euros.”

Schelvis highlights that these obstacles are hindering Feyenoord’s progress. The solution? “Individuals with a deep understanding of top-level football are absent at Feyenoord. You have Toon van Bodegom and Sjaak Troost involved, which is even more concerning. Fortunately, their terms are coming to an end; they have demonstrably failed. How much longer will they be allowed to remain?” In his view, clubs like PSV have their operations in better order.
