Fleetwood Town has terminated the contract of head coach Pete Wild and his assistant Adam Temple following a dismal streak of six defeats in their last seven matches.

In a club statement, Fleetwood Town announced that it was the “right time to make a change” after a 2-1 loss to Colchester United, which marked their fourth defeat in five league games and left the team in 15th place, a significant 11 points adrift of the play-off positions.

The statement expressed gratitude for the hard work and professionalism demonstrated by Wild and Temple during their tenure: “Everyone at the club would like to place on record their thanks to Pete and Adam for their hard work and professionalism during his time at the club.”

The club indicated that further updates regarding the first team staff would be provided in due time.

Pete Wild, who previously managed Oldham Athletic, Halifax Town, and Barrow, succeeded Charlie Adam as Fleetwood head coach in December 2024. Upon taking over with the club in a precarious 18th position, just eight points clear of relegation, Wild successfully guided the team to a 14th-place finish in his debut season.

The Cod Army started the current campaign positively, sitting ninth after a 2-1 home victory against Gillingham on December 20, just two points and two places outside the play-off spots. However, they have since managed to secure only one point in their last five league outings, suffering six defeats in their past seven matches across all competitions—equaling the number of losses seen in their previous 28 matches this season.
