Frank de Boer Declines Ajax Role

omidbasir- Frank de Boer has turned down an opportunity to return to Ajax. The Amsterdam club extended an offer to the club icon for a coaching role within their Under-19 team, but the former professional footballer was not interested.

The Under-19 team currently has a vacancy following Paul Nuijten’s promotion to the first team. According to Mike Verweij, speaking on the podcast Kick-off from De Telegraaf, Ajax reached out to Frank de Boer for this position. Nuijten, who Ajax views as a highly talented coach, was added to the staff of Fred Grim after John Heitinga’s departure. This situation is somewhat unusual, as Ajax places significant importance on their Under-19 squad. Consequently, they sought a new coach and approached De Boer.
