Following the dismissal of Ange Postecoglou in June, Frank was given the opportunity to manage one of England’s premier football clubs. His tenure at Tottenham began promisingly, with the team achieving victories in six of their first ten matches across all competitions.

Having successfully transformed Brentford from Championship hopefuls to a solid Premier League side, Frank seemed like an ideal fit for Spurs, who were positioned third in the league table at the beginning of November.

However, the initial rapport he developed with the Tottenham supporters quickly faded after a disappointing end to the month, which included a significant 4-1 defeat to Arsenal in the north London derby, as well as losses to Paris Saint-Germain and Fulham. Recently, Tottenham managed a narrow win against Crystal Palace, marking only their second victory in the last nine Premier League outings.

Former Tottenham player Ramon Vega took to social media to express his discontent, urging Frank to resign. He stated on X: “Frank, stop talking about last season. They finished 17th. You now have more fit players than Ange had last season, yet you’re still not better off. In fact, it’s a shambles. At least Ange, with no support, turned a difficult season into a joyous ending by winning the European Cup and qualifying for the Champions League. You are now enjoying the benefits. So please do us a favour and resign, mate!”

In a prior interview with talkSPORT, Vega emphasized the importance of effectively managing the team dynamics, stating, “He needs to manage the dressing room. Here, football is a psychological game.”

Despite the criticism, Frank remains optimistic about the direction of his team. Before their match against Crystal Palace, he mentioned to Sky Sports, “I think we are on the right track. It doesn’t work to focus solely on the positives while ignoring the results. We need to win games, and we aim to secure many victories moving forward. Although we’ve had consecutive losses, we haven’t had two poor performances in a row. For instance, our performance against PSG was commendable, despite the loss to Nottingham Forest. Recognizing our ability to bounce back is crucial and indicates progress.”

Frank acknowledged that the team is undergoing a transitional period, remarking, “Yes, we are a Champions League club, but we qualified by winning the Europa League, not because we were among the top clubs in the Premier League last season. We finished 17th. Competing in both the Champions League and the Premier League simultaneously poses a significant challenge. Our last successful attempt at this was three years ago when we finished eighth. The squad has evolved since then, losing key offensive players like Son Heung-Min, James Maddison, and Dejan Kulusevski due to injuries or departures. Building a competitive team that can perform consistently is an ongoing process, and we are dedicated to making progress every day. I believe that the collaboration among our coaching, performance, and medical staff is yielding positive results.”

Despite facing mounting criticism, Frank still enjoys the trust of his players. Randal Kolo Muani recently asserted that the squad has confidence in their manager, stating, “We have a good relationship. We communicate frequently and he has excellent coaches. The entire team trusts him and we are all content. Our focus now is on working hard during this challenging period.”
