omidbasir- John Heitinga has parted ways with Ajax, being dismissed from his position, while Alex Kroes appears set to finish the season as the interim technical director. However, there are growing concerns about this change within the club in Amsterdam.

According to Voetbal International, the players of the Eredivisie club are far from pleased with Kroes’s management. They report that there is significant resistance to the current leadership, stating, “As the season begins, it seems that no one at Ajax is satisfied. There is a clear lack of quality and balance both within the technical staff and the squad.”

Following Heitinga’s departure, Kroes offered his services on a temporary basis. In an interview with Algemeen Dagblad, he stated, “I have always felt partially responsible. My commitment was also at stake.” His colleagues, however, were reluctant to let him go: “A discussion ensued when I provided my explanation. They asked if they could utilize my expertise until a new technical director was found. After careful consideration, I agreed, especially since it was a clear request from the management and supervisory board.” Kroes has confirmed that he will not be seeking an extension at the end of the season, stating, “It is not an option for me to continue.”

Notably, player Remko Pasveer has voiced his criticism regarding the club’s acquisition strategy: “It is critical to have a certain level of experience and leadership. Henderson was a leader on the field, clear about his intentions. He kept the forwards organized, while I did the same in defense, providing strong direction. We are currently lacking that guidance.”
