omidbasir- Míchel, the head coach of Girona, expressed that the team’s victory against Mallorca (1-2) was their “most complete match” of the season in all aspects of play.

“For me, this is the most comprehensive performance we’ve delivered. My only requests are to work hard and maintain our health; my passion for football and this profession drives me. The reality is that the team must continue working, bringing us health and happiness. Points are earned on the field,” explained a relieved Míchel.

Rather than focusing on avoiding relegation, Míchel emphasized the quality of his team’s performance: “I prioritize how we have played. The strength our team exhibited against a challenging opponent, given our squad composition, was notable both with and without the ball. Today, we demonstrated our competitive ability, which is the most crucial aspect. We defended our area resolutely, and it feels like we delivered an outstanding match.”

The Madrid native reiterated the importance of the team’s image: “To me, the team’s image is paramount. While escaping relegation is positive, we all know that we need to secure 42 points. With one match left in the first half of the season, a win would bring us to the halfway mark. We must keep moving forward, but the feeling is good and our image has improved somewhat.”

Míchel also took the time to commend Lemar: “He delivered an excellent performance. He is vital for us; we have been without him due to two significant injuries. However, we will need him in the second half of the season,” he stated.

Regarding a potential injury to Moroccan international Ounahi, who was hurt during a training session for his national team at the Africa Cup, Míchel commented: “I saw a tweet sent to me by my son, but I am unaware of what happened. The reality is that it could be an injury, and I am unsure of the duration of his absence; I will inquire with the club now,” he concluded.
