Givairo Read Returns from Injury but Faces New Setback

Givairo Read made his return to the field on Sunday afternoon after a prolonged injury absence. The right-back played the full 89 minutes before yet another setback seemed to occur.

Following a defensive duel, Read clutched his hamstring and had to be substituted for Jordan Lotomba. Coach Robin van Persie commented, “We need to assess the situation further, but I hope it’s just cramping.” He noted the team’s challenging circumstances, having a limited selection of players available for the match in Friesland. “We had many young players on the bench, which is a reality we are facing. Our options were quite restricted.” Anis Hadj Moussa is expected to return for next weekend’s match.
